Hello, My name is Althea Longley. I am a 68 year widow, living in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.
As the title of this page says, I am passionate about writing. I have four books published on Lulu.{you will find link}
two mystery novels, ANOTHER CHANCE, and STORM BIRD, one a tender story about a woman's search to find her ailing mother's
friend, FLORA, and a non-fiction about a professional punter and victim of manic-depression, called DEAR DON MEMORIES OF MY
YEARS WITH MR. CASH. These books are available in paper-back or download. My fifth novel, WILLIAM AND LIAM is presently about
50% completed.
I began writing three years ago. With my family grown, and making their own lives, I began to feel
I was going brain dead. My son challanged me to write a book, which I accepted even if with a little reticence. However,
this was to become a most fulfilling period of my life. I wrote about places and situations that I was able to talk freely
about, and as my story progressed, so did my desire to spend hours on end writing. My characters became my family. I
laughed with them, and I cried with them. I loved placing them in certain situations, then helping them resolve these. And
when I finally print 'THE END' I feel a sadness and a sense of loss. But there are always other characters waiting to
be born, and another novel to be written.
Like all authors, I think my books are very readable. But what I need to hear is what my readers have
to say. After all, it is for them that I am writting, so am I writing what they like to read. If you would like
to find out more about any book before you buy, I would be more than happy to e-mail the first five chapters at no cost.
Before you close this page, could you please go to my guest book, and introduce yourself. Give me
some honest feedback that con always help me to improve on my writing. Thank you.
On this home page, I have introduced myself and the purpose of this web-page, which is promote my books
and to get the readers thoughts on how I can improve my writtings. On the next link, I will tell you a little more about
myself.
